Biografie : Nishyanthan Mahendran, better known as Nishy, is a Sri-Lankan born singer, songwriter, rapper & musician. Going by the artist name of FeenyX, Mahendran rose to fame in 2010 with the hit 'Em Vazhi' as a member of the Swiss based music group BlackBeatZ, a group of young artists dedicated to developing Tamil music for today's young audiences.
Born on the 15th of March 1984 in the small town of Putt...ur, Jaffna (Sri-Lanka), music was something which had been a big part of Mahendran's life. He used to tap the corner of his desk at school creating his own beats at a very young age. By the age of 12, he left Sri-Lanka and head to Switzerland where he found himself as a self-taught percussionist, mastering the sounds of exotic instruments such as the African djembe, Peruvian cajon and the Indian tabla. Playing at church & family/friend parties, Mahendran developed an ever-growing fan base, stretching from Sri-Lanka to as far as Australia.
Recently, Mahendran's interest in Tamil rap has resulted in world-wide hits, namely Nee Yaaro, Killer Lady & Chinna Raasathi. With fans based all over the world, Mahendran has taken his music career to the next stage, acting in his first music video clip 'Naan Sonnathum Mazhai Vanthicha' (Remix with Dj A.T & FeenyX). Releasing his own record label in 2011 'FnyX RecordZ', Mahendran is dedicated to giving today's rising artists a platform for their own music careers.
Mahendran's passion for music & dedication to writing songs that everybody can relate to, has resulted in an artist loved by all. His ultimate desire is for his fans to be offered comfort through his music.
